Thornton should be suspended a game. Should be automatic for a player on the bench if he intentionally affects the play on the ice like that.

Yeah right. It also occurred to me that the uber-clean Blackhawks, the team who’s fan base believes can commit no deserved penalty, are the only team to have a player suspended these playoffs and they’ve had 2.

No wonder the bruins give a great “officiating has been great” heads up.  This is embarassing.  Any player attempting to effect the play when not on ice should be automatically penalized or kicked out.  Like leaving the bench, or spitting or squirting water on a players face when hes skating by with the puck.  Can u imagine if they scored off that play? Bush league tactics from a bush league team.  No honor or sense of respect at all.
IF you do it after the whistle then thats fine whatever.  TO do it during a play when a person is skating by with the puck is inexcusable.  WHy not just stick your stick out and clothesline him.  There should be zero tolerence for any physical interference from people from people that are not on the ice.  Yap all u want, but once anything leaves from the bench be it water, a stick , spit they should be ejected.  That would teach them a lesson.
