It’s just too bad the NHL already made their “Top 10 Saves of the Season” video, because that would have made it easily.

I had to rewind that a few times. God damn that one made me start believing in a Wings goaltender again.
And that hasn’t happened…
well…
ever?

I was convinced the second chance was a goal last night. Panacea

that second save was absolutely disgusting.
I did this earlier in the season, but it seems appropriate now…

.5 GAA the past two games, .983 save %.

This seems the appropriate place to post these two quotes about the save on Hanzal (taken from the AP’s recap of last night’s game)...
“That’s when I thought I was locked in out there,” Howard said.
“That’s the game anyway you look at it,” Babcock said.
And I think this quote from Howardd says as much about the playoff mindset that Babs brings to the Wings as it does about Jimmah’s mindset in general.
“I’m having fun out there,” Howard said. “This is the time of the year it’s fun. You leave everything out there on the ice every single night, and it’s been a blast. I sort of cherish it out there.”
Maybe Ozzie had some influence on Jimmah’s mindset as well. If so, at least he’s done something this year. ![]()

Amazing save! Howard has definitely matured this year, and I’m really glad he’s the one the Wings have going forward.

Excellent, Paul. And the part where he “swaggers” in reverse is priceless. ![]()

The Wings got more jump in their skates after that save.
Oh and no joke: Howard’s DOB? March 26th, 1984. Too much of a coincidence…
