7—Feb. 17, 2012: Detroit 2, Nashville 1 (8 p.m. ET)—Craig Button

The Red Wings extended their win streak at Joe Louis Arena to 22 games as Pavel Datsyuk broke a 1-1 tie with just 5.8 seconds remaining in regulation to beat the Predators. With the victory, Detroit matched the streak of 22 straight home wins by the Boston Bruins of 1929-30 and ‘30-31.

That was the game Dangles undressed one Ryan Suter for the GWG.

That’s a depressing game to watch.  The wings did not look good and Datsyuk looked hurt up until flashes of brilliance in the third.

I’d rather see one of the two Chicago games from the last week of December (Datsyuk OT goal where he whiffed on te shot, collected it again, shot and scored…  Or the Bertuzzi two goal game where the zamboni doors got an assist on the tyig Chicago goal the first part of January).

That would’ve been another good one.  I feel like showing guys like Datsyuk doing crazy superhuman things is kinda good for building fanbase, compared to 59 minutes of slogfest followed by a burst of magic at the end.  They got the Crosby game on there, so they get the importance of individual greatness… Sometimes.
