Kukla's Korner Hockey

from Jerry Sullivan of the Buffalo News,
Regier has to do something dramatic by Tuesday’s trade deadline. In the current hockey parlance, he should go “out of character” and make some uncharacteristically bold moves to fortify the roster for an all-out run at the Stanley Cup.
The Sabres have the NHL’s best record. They’ll be one of the favorites, regardless of what Regier does in the next six days. But there’s a fragile quality about them right now. They’ve lost a player to injury in five straight games. They’re winning, but the margin of error seems smaller than it did in the fall.
Injuries are no longer a fluke, but an expectation. They’re even more likely in the playoffs, when the games are more physical and played every other day.
