Former Tampa Bay Lightning wing Ryan Malone pled no contest to a DUI charge in court Tuesday morning.
He will enter a pretrial intervention program related to a drug charge.
With the pretrial intervention program, Malone's charge of cocaine possession will be dismissed if he completes the requirements.
Malone, 34, was pulled over April 11 after he struck a curb on W Platt Street in Tampa. Police found a plastic bag with 1.3 grams of cocaine in his pocket, but Malone told them he didn't know where it came from, according to court documents.
Malone's contract was bought out by the Lightning in June, making him an unrestricted free agent.
