Rumors As We Get Closer To The Trade Deadline

from Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun,
• League sources say as many as four teams — the Rangers, Sharks, Bruins and Wings — have all made inquiries into Selanne’s availability with the trade deadline just over a month away on Feb. 27. All are watching to see if Murray decides to make a move with his club mired near the bottom of the Western Conference.
While the Wings have plenty of experience, the Rangers, Sharks and Bruins wouldn’t mind a veteran presence. Selanne can play, contribute scoring — 15 goals, 44 points in 45 games heading into Saturday’s action — and he’d be in a similar role to the one Mark Recchi filled in Boston’s championship run last spring.
Sources say the ball is in Selanne’s court. He won’t be moved unless he gives Murray permission.
• Montreal D Hal Gill will be a hot commodity once the Habs decide to start unloading. The Flyers, Penguins, Panthers and Senators all have interest. Don’t be surprised if Pittsburgh brings back Gill; the Penguins never wanted to lose him to free agency weeks after he helped them win the Cup in 2009
more rumor talk…

I’d trade Hudler straight up for Selanne…that’s how badly I want to see him in a Wings’ sweater.

Selanne is probably pretty impressed by the Boston Brutes. I will hang’em up for good if that happens.

god…..Hudler is a piece. I don’t care how many four game stretches he looks decent in. Look at his linemates.

I would too, but why would Anaheim want him, especially on an expiring contract?

If they can get him without having to give up too much, Selanne will win a cup with Detroit. He is worth a first rounder.
