The reason i made that comment because this is risk NHL teams take w/lockout, forcing players to go elsewhere and something like this happens.

This is true. Also, if they have a half season starting in December, they risk having the majority of the games played with out-of-shape players. The partial season will be poor hockey. Luckily for the NHL, nobody will notice (since nobody will be watching).

Even in a patrial season people wouldnt watch nhl until playoffs start up.

Hmmm, maybe the players overseas are a bit pissed that NHL players are coming in to take roster spots…
