Just breaking news from the Panthers/Sabres game, Richard Zednik just took a skate to the neck from Olli Jokinen.
Zednik was raced to the lockerroom… no update yet…
The arena is silent…
8:17pm, screencap added.
8:19pm, Sabres broadcast crew reporting Zednik is in stable condition and being transported to hospital.
8:23pm, After about a 15 minute delay, the game continues. They had to bring out the Zamboni to clean up the ice, there was a large amount of blood on the ice.
8:36pm, TSN link describing what happened…
8:46pm, Jaques Martin in his post game presser stated Zednik was conscious while being transported to the hospital. Florida trainer went to the hospital with him and Martin is just waiting for an update.
9:05pm, video added…
9:16pm, MSG reporting Zednik in surgery.
10:43pm, Numerous reports are Zednik is out of surgery and resting.
12:23am, Should the game have continued?
11:21am, An interview with Denis Potvin this morning, who called the game last night for FSN Florida.
