NEW YORK (February 20, 2013) -- Nashville Predators forward Rich Clune has been fined $1,452.70, the maximum allowed under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for boarding Colorado Avalanche forward Aaron Palushaj in NHL Game No. 221 in Colorado on Monday, February 18, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.
The incident occurred at 12:32 of the first period. Clune was assessed a minor penalty for boarding.
As a first-time offender, the maximum Clune could be fined was the lesser of $10,000 or one-half of his daily salary.

Exactly, sounds like Clune likes taking advantage of defenseless players since it seems to be staple of his game. Pretty ballsy to board someone else while awaiting the verdict on your previous boarding call.

I am of the belief that the game is too fast for some of these players. They don’t have the ability to think things through in the split second they have the oppurtunity. It wasn’t so much that he did it again while being reviewed, it’s that he isn’t quick enough to not do it again. That’s maybe just how he plays.
Erego, it’s going to take some time and a lot of coaching to get this kind’ve guy to shape up. Cooke did it, Bertuzzi did it. Many others have not.
