Reviewing Game 1 Detroit/San Jose

from Ken Daniels at DetroitRedWings.com,

I discovered again last night, I don’t enjoy watching hockey!

Ok, before you say, “for the love of Nicklas Lidstrom, what are you talking about?”

I don’t enjoy watching the team I love to work for, when I should be working! It’s just too intense. Now I know how most of you feel.

Once again, that NHL network some of you get, and some of you don’t, put Mickey Redmond and me on the sidelines – something it can do with its exclusive broadcasts two times in the second round – and it will do so again for Game 2, and then FS Detroit takes over as long as the series goes.  And if you listened to San Jose coach Todd McLellan during his post-game conference last night, he said, “This is just one game, with six to go”. Oops. He let the cat out of the bag. This thing is going seven. For Red Wings’ fans, at this point, that’s great news! Almost as great as the news that Jiri Hudler will return next season. But back to Game 1.

Can’t wait to have Ken and Mickey calling the games again. The guys on Versus tried but they weren’t good at enunciating how great that game was and it’s fluidity. Too much idle chatter.

And Versus should send in a super secret spy to CBC and figure out how to get the rink sounds.

Mike certainly had Western Canada in his thoughts last night. His dad, Mike Sr, took ill and was in the hospital. We are happy to report, he is doing much better today. - Ken Daniels

Godspeed, Mike Sr.

Ken also reported that the Wings took today off from practice.  The Wings certainly needed it.

Funny to hear that Ken Daniels suffers along with the fans when he can’t concentrate on working at his job during the game.

That’s because Reagh suffers from a severe case of diarrhea of the mouth.  He’s like across between Jack Edwards and Dennis Miller, except with any of the few remaining entertaining crumbles sucked out.

In a sports world plagued by awful, abysmal color men, Reagh is amongst the true worst.

“And his team will do much better Sunday. And it’s a 5 p.m. EDT start too! We know how early afternoon playoff games go. Not well. The Wings won’t have to worry about that again this round.”

Thought it was at 8pm EDT on sunday?
