from WXYZ,
Former Red Wings public address announcer Budd Lynch has died at the age of 95.
Sources say Lynch passed away at the Oakwood Skilled Nursing Home on Rotunda in Dearborn at 5 a.m. A representative from the R J Nixon Funeral Home in Wyandotte says arrangements are pending.
Lynch began as the public address announcer for the Detroit Red Wings in 1985. He was inducted into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame in 1994.

That sucks.
I always liked how he just announced goals and assits and pretty much everything, without ever doing any of that annoying over-the-top, “Steeeeeeeeeeeeeve YYYYYYYZERMANNNNNN!” crapola.
RIP, Bud.
You’ll be missed.

The passing of a legend. It’s hard to mourn such a fantastic life, so instead we mourn OUR loss (and this really is our loss).

So sad.
One of a kind. Both the hockey and broadcasting worlds are a little less awesome today, and the One Minute Warning will never seem the same again.
