Report- Theodore Signs With Wild

from TSN,

It appears as though the Minnesota Wild have a backup plan after losing Josh Harding for the season.

Montreal radio station CKAC is reporting that the Wild have signed goaltender Jose Theodore to a one-year, $1.1 million contract.

“Jose’s a veteran who’s won 245 games in the NHL,” said General Manager Chuck Fletcher in a hotel lobby in Helsinki. “We’re fortunate he was still available. He makes us a deeper team and we have a terrific one-two punch again.”

As much as any well paid athlete can be, Theo was a “victim” of the cap. With a plethora of promising young (and cheap) goaltending in the system, the Caps can’t do anything but put the games in the hands of the kids. In another time, the youths compete in the AHL to earn a spot up and Theo was resigned in DC for a small fortune. As a fan, I’m glad he’s landed and not badly off. He seems like a great guy, and a great teammate in addition to being a pretty good goalie most times.
