From TSN,
In an interview with Buffalo radio station WGR, Sabres General Manager Darcy Regier confirmed that Connolly will have season-ending surgery on his hip.
Injuries have proven to be a continuing theme during Connolly’s six-year NHL career. The native of Syracuse, New York missed almost the entire 2006-07 season due to concussion and in the past has missed time due to knee, groin and upper body injuries.
The surgery will be performed Monday by hip specialist Dr. Marc Philippon - the same doctor who recently operated on Islanders’ goalie Rick DiPietro.
