Report- Chicago Plans To Sign Garnet Exelby

According to a source, the Blackhawks plan to sign Garnet Exelby once the veteran defenseman clears waivers either today or Saturday.
Exelby is a physical defenseman who has 584 penalty minutes in 408 career NHL games with Atlanta and Toronto.
Exelby has been playing with the Hawks’ AHL affiliate in Rockford on a minor league contract.

Maybe going to the west will help him.
He has concussion problems. Namely, he got a concussion, and decided he couldn’t really deliver the smashing hits he was known for in Atlanta anymore. That’s a problem, and ultimately why Atlanta parted ways with him.
