That 3rd round pick was just too much to give up, Holland? I don’t understand the issue with rental players if they’re going for 3rd round picks…

1) Cap space ($4mil cap hit)
2) Mediocre player

Not a factor (Hank goes on IR)

2) Mediocre player

Better than current 5-7 D on Wings and may be better than No. 4 since Meszaroz helps on the PP.

Apparently I failed a security check and I’m using my phone and my post never went through. Eff.

First, I may misunderstand how this works but wouldn’t we more than make up for the $4m salary cap hit by placing Z and inevitably helm on waivers?

Secondly, He cannot possibly be more mediocre than smith, Quincey, Lashoff, or kindl. Boston seemed to want him, that says something.

Thirdly, with respect to Boston’s place in the standings and their ability to add a $4m cap hit, it goes to show how grossly mismanaged our cap space has been under holland.

We have too many “okay” dmen in the line up now.  The last thing we really need is to add another roster spot who is a 5-7 type defenseman, especially at that cap hit.  In my opinion.
