WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Murray just dropped his cock right in the middle of the table on that one.  Ryan is good, but I’m surprised they let Silfverberg go, he seemed like a stud.

What’s the problem? Wings weren’t impressed by his compete level. Not Wings material. We also gave up nothing for our additions. Trades take big assets. They made the deal to save face because nobody would sign there. Not impressed.

Im not sure the Sens didn’t overpay. Silverberg seemed impressive.

Ryan is good but with out Selanne, Perry and Baldy, he won’t be AS good.

My Jury is out, but a young 30 goal scorer for a good prospect and a 1st.  That’s pretty good.  Ryan’s soft though and he’s got some Franzen in him.

Jury’s out for me on this one.  Ott just lost a lot of leadership with a young young team and they’re worried about replacing goals.  We’ll see how if it works in real life how Murray thinks it’ll work on paper.

Silverberg was indeed a stud but lots of room for improvement and whether or not he does is unknown.

He has one of the best playmaking Cs to play with in Spezza (who hasn’t had a true sniper on his own wing since Heatley left), I think he’ll be ok.

As a Sens fan, sucks to see Silf leave, he was a real gamer, but this season was a bit eye opening. We heard so much about his upside but truth be told, offensively, I didn’t see it. Strong two way player, but more suited for depth role than a true difference maker ala Ryan.

Noesen is a guy the organization has been high on for a quite a while, but they have a log jam of talented wingers in the system.

I think it’ll be one that works out for both squads.

Today crushed my dreams of seeing an all-floater line—Franzen, Clowe, and Ryan.

Imagine the size! Imagine the potential! Image the frustration!

Bobby Ryan is an idiot. This is what he just tweeted:

My gf just asked me if we were moving north of Detroit. Not a geography major haha

Making someone you care about feel stupid. That’s maturity. Have fun sleeping on the couch tonight.

Unless of course he thinks Detroit is north of Ottawa.

It’s not a bad deal on the face of things, but the problem here is that Ryan’s only signed for two years.  I highly doubt he’s going to re-up there.  Maybe he will, maybe not.  Still, Ottawa gave up a first, a guy they picked with a first, and a guy they picked with a 2 that looked great by most accounts.

That’s not the kind of move a team can pull that often, and it’s going to have a significant impact on Ottawa’s prospect pipeline.

It looks a whole lot like a panic move because Alfredsson didn’t re-up, and moves made out of panic rarely work out.  It’ll look fine in 2013-14… but after that?  Pretty risky.
