That’s a weak offer for Hockeytown.  For a player of Yandle’s caliber, it is going to take a lot more than that.

where is he going?
Boston, perhaps?
they would like a true PP QB and out of conference.
any other ideas?

In case you are asking, Yandle has 4 years left on his contract at $5.25M per.

How about the pens.  Shero acknowledged this week he would be trading a d-man. Maybe Martin, Kennedy, and a prospect.

Back in play? I miss something? Why would the Coyotes want to get rid of Yandle?

The flyers want everybody… They only have 9 million in cap space and they still need to resign their own guys like Carl and voracek.

Possibly money Larry? Especially given how dicey things are getting in the desert.

Yandle would be an excellent pick-up for Detroit. Or anyone.

I’m sure you’re right the Coyotes would lose less money without Yandle, but I’m almost as sure they’d be below the cap floor. Maybe they think there’s a better way to spend $6 million in mandatory spend cap space than Yandle, but bugger me if I know what it would be for them.

Have fun with that, whoever is unfortunate enough to end up with him.  Wings saw him in the playoffs 2 years in a row.  He was nothing to write home about, and definitely a liability in his own end.

This whole “Power Play QB” thing is overrated unless it is literally the absolute last piece your team needs to win a Cup.

I dont recall anyone but Doan being worth w riting home about..  id say if he had skilled forwards to pass the puck to hed breakout.. again..

Staal and Martin for Yandle and some other spare parts

I wouldn’t trade Martin for Yandle straight up, much less adding in another player… even one expiring.

Detroit could use him, especially his offense.  A fairly even trade value wise would be Yandle for White, Kindl and a #1.

The problem is that since Bettman owns the team he’s not going to allow Detroit to get Yandle without trying to extort more than fair value for him, which means Detroit isn’t going to get him.

Larsson makes Yandle expendable, especially with his largish cap hit.

I’d take Yandle over Quincey any day.  Can you make that happen, Kenny?

This is the most realistic proposal in this thread, IMO. Not necessarily that the Wings are players in this, but just the package, a top 4 D, a young #6/7 D with top 4 potential, and a pick.

I’m guessing Philly ends up with him. Maybe finds a way to package JVR in the deal.

I’m thinking this is a signal of some bad news on the sale of the Coyotes. If I were Jamison, I’d be pissed if they made a huge move like this just before I took control of the team. Which tells me they don’t expect to close this deal (not a big surprise).

awould, according to reports, Maloney feels they have two your defensemen ready to play and they are looking for a first line center.

Well that’s ok then. Yandle’s contract isn’t small. I like Maloney though, i think he’s a good GM. Still, pretty big move to make just before close of escrow…

Sounds like he’s not not being shopped. I once didn’t not try to do something and now I have a daughter smile
