The Chicago Blackhawks held a 2-0 lead against the Wings with 39 seconds to play. They lost the game when Pavel Datsyuk scored with a 1/10 of a second left in OT.
Marty Lapointe was not happy with the way the game was called, especially in overtime. I wonder if he will face a league reprimand for his comments.
via the AP,
"The overtime calls hurt the game," Lapointe said. "It's a big game, a big rivalry. the refs should let us play. I guess this is the new NHL. To lose a game on a cheap penalty is not the way to play hockey."
, from the Daily Herald
“They (referees Eric Furlatt and Shane Heyer) can’t figure it out for themselves, so they’ve got to call Toronto,” Hawks captain Adrian Aucoin said. “They should start doing that every play because there seems to be too many question marks.”
