Redden On Waivers

“It’s always difficult when you change someone’s life like this,” Sather said. “But in the end you have to do what’s best for the team.”
Sather said that Redden did not seem too surprised when he got the news, that “he’d seen the writing on the wall.” The Rangers’ president and general manager said that he would accept whatever decision Redden makes should he clear waivers, whether the 33-year-old defenseman chooses to accept an assignment to Hartford or tries to find a job in Europe.
