Ready, Start The Signings!

We've read, watched and listened to all the information regarding possible landing spots for many of the UFAs.

We've done the same with potential trades so now is the time to watch it all unfold right before our very eyes.

Players can officially sign with teams starting at 12:00pm ET and I have a feeling we may see some very early signings.

With that out of the way, what are your plans for the day?

Will you be be glued to the TV, radio or will you be following via the internet?

The UFA period is different in my mind than the other big day in the NHL, the trade deadline day.

When the final bell rings at 3:00pm ET on trade deadline day, that means all the speculation ends for the season.  But with the UFA period, signings can and will continue all the way through training camps.

KK hopes to have you covered on most of the signings and will do our best to provide the information to you as quickly as possible.

what are your plans for the day?

Argentina and Switzerland play at noon, then the US are up against Belgium at four; and I’m going to have to watch it all later on the DVR due having to work all day. I’ll catch up with NHL player movement by reading about it on KK tomorrow. These are the dog days of summer.    cool smile

In true Sather style, NYR signs Mats Sundin to a one-year $14m deal!

I don’t expect much movement in Calgary and that is a good thing. Let the kids come in an develop. I am curious about where Iggy decides to go, though. I don’t buy rumors of him signing with the wings but he could fit with the bolts as a MSL replacement. Would he go to MN? Praise and Suter are there and the wild have strong goaltending.

As for plans, taking the fam to meet some friends at Ft. Calgary for Canada day festivities! Will check twitter and KK as time permits smile.

I’m basically taking the day off. I work from home a lot anyways, but today I will “work” from home. I might be one of the few Americans who see this as a really very big sports day in the year…. US soccer in the knockout round and the opening of NHL free agency! On the same day! Yes, please.

Keep the updates coming, Paul, I’ll be reading them, hopefully between US goals.
