Rangers Lose Callahan To Broken Hand

via Andrew Gross of Rangers Rants Blog,

The Rangers got captain Chris Drury back for tonight’s game against the Penguins but promptly lost alternate captain Ryan Callahan to a broken hand.

Callahan broke his hand while on the penalty kill at 4:42 of the first period, blocking Kris Letang’s wrist shot. He was led to the team’s dressing room by trainer Jim Ramsey as soon as he left the ice.

Callahan had become the team leader in Drury’s absence and had 10 goals and 13 assists while playing 31 of the team’s first 32 games.

added 10:30pm, watch how the injury occurred below…

That’s real unfortunate, because Callahan is good and Drury isn’t.
