Rangers Open With 9 Game Road Swing

The NHL confirmed its participation in the 2014 Sochi Olympic Games, thus allowing for release of the 2013-14 schedule that will feature an opening long and winding road trip for the Rangers consisting of nine games prior to the club’s Garden debut on Oct. 28 against Montreal.

The season-opening trek that commences in Phoenix on Oct. 3, features a hopscotch across the continent while the final phase of the Garden renovation continues throughout the month.

The Blueshirts, who will play outdoor games at Yankee Stadium against the Devils on Sunday afternoon, Jan. 26 and against the Islanders on Wednesday night, Jan. 29, have a nine-game homestand in December.
