Rangers Can Establish Playoff Ground Through Season's Final Full Month

The New York Rangers (37-20-6, 80 points) currently rank a distant second in the Metropolitan Division, but a strong showing in March will solidify their playoff status. March’s slate of games, however, will prove to be very difficult for the Blue Shirts. New York’s slate includes a showdown against its crosstown rivals, the New York Islanders, three games against the Pittsburgh Penguins, and a tough West coast trip that will pit New York against three of the NHL’s best teams. All five of New York’s home game will feature opponents vying for playoff spots, so expect a very competitive month of action at Madison Square Garden. Fans traveling to these games can find great deals and locations for Madison Square Garden parking.

3/6/16 New York Islanders @ New York Rangers | Get-in: $161

Over the last few years, the rivalry between the Rangers and Islanders has intensified. The excitement for this match-up has been directly reflected on the secondary ticket market. On Razorgator, Islanders tickets vs. the Rangers start at $161. The Islanders have won their first two meetings against the Rangers. Credit goaltender, Jaroslav Halak, who has only allowed two goals in the first two meetings.

3/13/16 Pittsburgh Penguins @ New York Rangers | Get-in: $145

It’s no secret that these two teams despite each other. In fact, these two teams regularly participate in physical contests. In recent years, New York has gotten the better of Pittsburgh and carry an 1-0 record against Sidney Crosby and Co. during the 2015-16 season. The Rangers won the first meeting against Pittsburgh, 3-0. Goaltender Henrik Lundqvist stopped all 34 shots in the victory. Fans attending this game can expect to pay above average ticket prices. According to RazorGator, Rangers tickets have a get-in price of $145 for the Penguins game.

3/21/16 Florida Panthers @ New York Rangers | Get-in: $84

The New York Rangers and Florida Panthers have split their first two meetings, both of which took place in Florida. New York won a thrilling 5-4 game in overtime during November while dropping a decisive 3-0 decision to Florida in January. Rick Nash has scored three goals against Florida this season, so expect another big effort from him in this game if he’s able to return to the ice from an injury that’s kept him out for an extended period of time. The get-in price for this game is $84, which is slightly discounted from an original get in price of $93.

3/23/16 Boston Bruins @ New York Rangers | Get-in: $109

The Boston Bruins and the New York Rangers will square off for the third and final time on March 23. These two rivals have split their first two meetings. Boston defended their home ice in November by securing a close 4-3 victory while New York won 2-1 at Madison Square Garden in January. Both teams are likely playoff participants, so expect a spirited effort on both sides. The get-in price for this game is $109, which represents one of the better values on the March slate.

3/27/16 Pittsburgh Penguins @ New York Rangers | Get-in: $133

New York will close out its slate of home games with another tilt against Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh boasts some impressive offensive fire power, so expect Lundqvist to be very busy. The get-in price for this game is currently $133.
