I know it has already been said, but if the rumor is true, Classy move by classy guy from a classy team. This is why we are THE class team of the league. I believe TPH stays now because he understands the needs of this team and captains just don’t abandon ship in situations like this. The timing of this announcement was done in the best interests of the team.PURE CLASS.

I’d still like to see if Bagosian is still an option either in trade or RFA. New owership will have to watch their pesos for the first couple of years.

The best way to get Webber is to nudge him to sign a 1 year contract and sign him as a UFA the following year. The summer is really heating up for the 19 now.

Hope you and your’s weren’t affected this weekend MO. Pretty brutal storm.

I say go for a big name forward.. even a slightly bigger name than average forward.. that extra top 6 piece that doesnt’ need to be cottled when they’re not scoring and quits bein’ a bitch.. sorry, got off topic… Someone needs to start some Parise to Detroit rumors

The org has already strayed far enough from he defense-first attitude that one the Cup, why do you want to weaken it even more?  Christ, let’s get a big, strong, physical defenseman.

Doubt it very much. He’s a restricted free agent, so the only way he leaves Nashville is if he accepts an offer sheet (which will cost Detroit a lot in draft picks as well as dollars), and Nashville doesn’t match it (which they will, because he is the cornerstone of the team).

I doubt he would even instruct his agent to entertain offer sheets at all. He likes Nashville, he enjoys his role there, the team is always in the mix for the playoffs - they just need some more offense to improve. Weber stays in Nashville for the foreseeable future.

(One other thing that Detroit might be looking at - there is no telling what the next CBA will do to existing contracts. They might not want to take on yet another long-term contract that will forced them to make tough choices on who to buy out when the next CBA takes effect. Why give someone a huge contract if there is a good chance that it means someone else might need to be bought out as a result? Just a hypothetical.)

Thanks for the thoughts, thankfully that was 3 hours from me… but a tragic event none the less.
