Radulov Negotiating A Contract With KHL Team

from Dmitry Chesnokov of Puck Daddy,

Just under a week ago, we wrote about Alexander Radulov and his KHL rights being traded to CSKA, the storied Red Army club.

On Monday, the news comes that Radulov will indeed play in Russia next season.

The always outspoken Yuri Nikolaev, Radulov’s Russian agent, in an interview to Russian newspaper Izvestiya implied that Radulov is going to play in the KHL next season.

“Alexander no longer has thoughts, watching the sea, whether he should go to the NHL or play in the KHL,” Nikolaev told Izvestiya.

“We are negotiating with CSKA about a personal contract.  However we are not in CSKA yet; there are matters we have to discuss with the club’s general managers.

Yep, its the potential lockout thats sending him back to KHL, not the complete lack of interest from NHL teams, or the giant bags of cash Russia is willing to dump at his doorstep.

Seems odd Radulov wanting to save face with the NHL, considering he had two chins when he showed up.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - walking out on an NHL contract to sign with the KHL should be an offense that results in permanent expulsion from the NHL.  He waltzed back in for a run at the cup and is right back out.  Screw guys like him.

He burned another bridge.  How many does he have?  i agree the NHL should refuse his next return attempt.
