Various sources report the Montreal Canadiens have signed former Rangers forward Brandon Prust to a four-year, $10 million contract, or $2.5 million per season.

Was there ever a legit report that the Wings were even interested in Prust?

I don’t believe so. Just a (not invalid) perception that he would fill a good need.

I wanted him too, but not at that cap hit.

I’d rather have Prust at that cap hit than Prust-wannabe Abdelkader at 1.5 mil.

Glass at $1.1 and Prust at $2.5. I’ll happily pay less for a better player who doesn’t fight quite as well.
