President Trump Tell League Commissioners Crowds May Be Able To Return In August-September

The president is not a medical professional, so please take his words with a grain of salt. It’s one thing to *hope* leagues can reopen by then, but it’s another thing entirely if science and medicine can develop treatment and a vaccine by that time.

The estimated timeline the public was given (back in Feb and early Mar) for a vaccine is 12-18 months. That puts us at roughly next summer before things could conceivably return to a sense of normalcy. Trying to do this in Aug or Sept without a treatment or vaccine will be detrimental.

In his daily press conference, Mr. Trump did not mention a date, but did say he hopes games return sooner than later.
