Players Lacking Respect

It looked frightening on television: Pittsburgh's Brooks Orpik rams Carolina's Erik Cole headfirst into the boards. Cole suffers broken vertebrae in his neck and will miss two months. Whatever you think of the NHL's product these days, one thing seems to be a constant: The respect players show one another on the ice remains at an all-time low. Now, when a player bends over along the boards, he is considered fair game to get pummeled.
