Ping ping, Bruins defeat Blackhawks 2-1 in overtime, tie series

The Stanley Cup Final may as well be a best-of-8 given the fact that both Games 1 and 2 went to overtime...And despite an incredibly slow start, the Boston Bruins rallied from an early deficit and defeated the Chicago Blackhawks 2-1 in overtime thanks to a goal by Daniel Paille.

After three full games' worth of play and then some, the series is tied 1-1, and it heads back to Boston for Game 3 on Monday and Game 4 on Wednesday.

The ping ping of course refers to the fact that Jaromir Jagr rifled what the CBC's Glenn Healy said was a 112-mile-per-hour shot off the goalpost in overtime, as well as the fact that Tuukka Rask gave the Bruins stellar goaltending, keeping Boston in the game when they were out-shot 19-4 in the 1st period.

Update: Yowzers, quite the angle:

Anything that makes Hawks fans unhappy makes me ecstatic. Next year I may feel differently about any win by the Bruins. But, right now, I couldn’t be happier.
