Perry Learns Nothing Beats Hard Work

from Eric Stephens of Ducks Blog at the OC Register,
Instead of it being Daniel Sedin’s coronation in Las Vegas, it was Corey Perry who walked off with the Hart Trophy six months ago and became the first Ducks player in franchise history to win the league’s prestigious individual award.
Just as surprising was Perry’s start to 2011-12 that had people wondering if he left his game in the desert. The gritty goal-scoring winger didn’t hesitate to give an honest evaluation of his work.
When asked if he felt his game has been there from the beginning, Perry quickly said, “No, it hasn’t been.”
“Probably mid-November is finally when it really started,” he continued. “I don’t know what happened. Maybe it was the hangover from the year before. At the start of the year, I thought it was going to be easier or whatever.
“I learned pretty quick that you still got to work hard and still go to do all the little things. Finally one day, things went right. I tried to stick with that game plan instead.”
