Pens May Change Front Office

As the Pittsburgh Penguins continue to lobby for a new arena to replace out-of-date Mellon Arena, there is growing sentiment in Pittsburgh and beyond that a modernization of the team's management structure is also overdue. ...Patrick's contract is expiring this summer, offering the perfect opportunity to part company with a man who does deserve a graceful exit because of his past successes. The guessing around the league is that Patrick will not be rehired, but no one knows for sure. The word is that he has a decent relationship with Penguins CEO Ken Sawyer.
