from Adrian Dater of the Denver Post,
Patrick Roy, the Hall of Fame former Avalanche goalie, is leaving Denver today after visiting with team president Pierre Lacroix concerning a possible return to the team.
What role Roy might have with the Avalanche remains unclear, but it has been his stated intention to become a coach should he return to the NHL….
For now, Tony Granato remains the Avalanche coach, but Roy’s visit with Lacroix will only heighten the intrigue surrounding his situation with the team. The Avs fired general manager Francois Giguere April 13 and have yet to fill the position. Lacroix said the Avs would have a new “management structure” upon Giguere’s dismissal, so it’s possible there could be some new hybrid roles for existing personnel or those who join the team.
