via Dan O’Neill of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch,
Blues forward T.J. Oshie missed Monday morning’s 10:30 a.m. team practice at the St. Louis Mills in what is being described as an “unexcused absence.”
Coach Davis Payne said that he plans to meet with general manager Doug Armstrong to determine how to best handle the situation and discuss what any possible discipline may be for Oshie. Payne added that the situation will be handled internally.

He probably finally realized he was playing for those pathetic blues and decided he’d quit hockey until his contract ran out.

I don’t see this ending well for anyone involved. Especially since Oshie is in Idol status in STL right now…
What a mess the Blues still are.

St. Louis never should have announced this. It’s just going to draw too much attention. They should have said Oshie had the flu and ripped him a new one behind closed doors.
Other players have gone MIA in practice (Deadspin caught Patrick Kane piss drunk at 4 AM before an 8AM morning skate he didn’t show up for), but you usually never hear about it because the teams always say the guy has the flu.
Unless they want to use his absence against him in, like, Salary Arbitration or something, there’s just no reason to tell reporters you didn’t know he wasn’t going to be there.
