Kukla's Korner Hockey

Only A Hockey Player Would…

from the Courier Post,
To be able to participate in Friday's practice, Flyers center R.J. Umberger had to have two thin strips of medical tape placed onto his right eyelid and gently yanked back to expose his bloodshot eye. After practice he planned on spending most of Friday lying in bed with a bag of ice on his eye and his head propped up on pillows. That's the price you pay when you take a blindside check into the boards in the NHL.
