OLN Has Made Tremendous Strides

Flyers chairman Ed Snider was chatting on the telephone Saturday night and watching the Outdoor Life Network as he talked. What was on? Hockey, what else? "Anaheim just scored," he said, announcing the Mighty Ducks' first and only goal in a game that Edmonton would win to capture the Western Conference. OLN carried the game, as it has a majority of them all year, and in Snider's assessment the unwanted league and unknown network have wound up making a pretty good team. "Fact is, the ratings on ESPN initially would have been higher," Snider said later on in the conversation. "But I think the network has made tremendous strides throughout the season.
