Old School- NHL Acquires Photo Collection

A toothless Gordie Howe calling for the puck. Guy Lafleur dashing through the open ice with his hair flowing in the wind. Goalies with no masks. Boards without advertisements. The stately grace of Wayne Gretzky. And the volcanic intensity that exists in the corners. These are just a few of the rich images captured by Brodeur over 30 years spent photographing the Montreal Canadiens. Last week Brodeur, who is also New Jersey Devils goalie Martin Brodeur’s proud father, sold his vast collection, a one-of-a-kind body of work of over 110,000 images, to the National Hockey League.
