Oilers Sign Hejda

from the Edmonton Oliers,
Just two days after obtaining him in a trade with the Buffalo Sabres, the Edmonton Oilers have signed defenceman Jan Hejda to a one-year contract. Hejda, a 6’3”, 209-pound native of Prague, Czech Republic, was obtained from the Sabres on July 10th in exchange for the Oilers’ 7th round pick in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
Some additional Oilers news- Assistant GM Scott Howson was on 630/CHED radio tonight in Edmonton and mentioned at this time Harvey, Murray, Peca, Dvorak and Tarnstrom are not in the Oiler plans for next season.
