Oh Those Nicknames

Those who suggest players from the Original Six era are better than today’s NHLers would almost certainly have an argument on their hands, but one thing is certain: Hockey nicknames were certainly superior then compared to today.
How much time did Jean-Sebastien Giguere’s teammates spending dreaming up ‘Jiggy’? Stephane Yelle is ‘Yeller’ to his teammates in Calgary and anyone who plays with Chris Pronger calls him ‘Prongs’ – although, a few former fans in Edmonton may have some other interesting monikers for him.
