MONTREAL - Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin announced on Saturday that the team has agreed to terms on a five-year contract (2017-18 to 2021-22) with free agent defenseman Karl Alzner.
The 28-year-old Burnaby, BC native played nine seasons with the Washington Capitals since being selected fifth overall by the club in 2007.
In 591 career games, Alzner has registered 19 goals, 98 assists and 117 points, and chipped in with three goals, eight assists and 11 points in 64 playoff outings.
