Kukla's Korner Hockey

Here’s a few bits and pieces of information, as we wait for the boys to don the blades.
Tickets for this years Training Camp Opener are on sale now. They are $5 and all seats are general admission. The first 10, 000 who enter the United Center will receive a Patrick Sharp bobble head doll. (Which I guess should be smiling after that 5 year extension). Last years opener was a sell out and a success.
Hawks pre season tickets are currently on sale. There will be 3 home games, (pretty good ones for the pre season). The first game, is against the Capitals on Sept. 23. This is followed by the Red Wings on the 28th and the Penguins on the 30th.
The regular season, single game tickets will go on on sale Monday, August 22, at 10:00 AM CT. Tickets will again be available through Ticketmaster.com.. The usual 8 ticket maximum is still in effect this year. Ticket prices range from $45, at the 300 level, “regular games” to $450 on the glass, “premium games”. Price for all standing room tickets are $27, regardless of the clarifications (Just a note. I had SRO tickets once. While waiting for the game to start, (while on crutches) a representative from the U.C. gave my son and I pretty good seats. Don’t count on it every time, but it does happen. This was also during a Playoff game, btw)
Some of the game of interest this year, (besides, as always, the Wings) include, in October the Jets, and a match up of the last 2 Cup winners Bruins / Hawks. The Sharks & the Canadiens visit in December. The Toronto Maple Leafs hit the ice in February. In March, the Canucks and Capitals come to Chicago.
The Hawks Heroes Program will be holding a Blood Drive on Saturday, August 27, from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm’ It will be held at 3 area locations in Naperville, Rosemont, and North Riverside (by appointment). Being a member of the Hawks Heroes team entitles you to special rewards based on the number of your donations. All who attend will receive 2 passes to the afore mentioned Training Camp Opener.
