REGINA, Sask. (Oct. 25, 2019) – A look at the 2019 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic™ “By the Numbers.”

-5 – Average low temperature, in degrees Celsius, for Regina, Sask. on Oct. 26, according to accuweather.com.

-3.25 – Average temperature at puck drop, in degrees Celsius, for the previous four Heritage Classic games (2003, -18°C; 2011, -8°C; 2014, 3°C; 2016, 10°C).

NHL Heritage Classic Flames Jets Regina By the Numbers

1 – The 2019 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic™ will be the first “neutral-site” NHL regular-season outdoor game held in Canada.

2 Both the Winnipeg Jets™ and Calgary Flames® will be making their second appearance in the Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic™. Calgary hosted their first NHL Heritage Classic against the Montreal Canadiens, a 4-0 win in front of 41,022 fans at McMahon Stadium on Feb. 20, 2011. Winnipeg fell 3-0 to the Edmonton Oilers in front of 33,240 fans at Investors Group Field at the 2016 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic™.

5 – The 2019 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic™ will be the fifth NHL Heritage Classic game since the NHL hosted its first ever outdoor game on Nov. 22, 2003, when the visiting Montreal Canadiens defeated the Edmonton Oilers 4-3 in front of 57,167 fans at Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton.

5 – Number worn by Calgary Flames defenseman, Mark Giordano, who leads the Flames defense in scoring with 9 points (3-6-9 in 12 GP) through games played on Oct. 24. The 2019 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic™ will be Giordano’s second outdoor matchup, having played in Calgary’s 4-0 victory over Montreal in the 2011 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic™ at McMahon Stadium in Calgary.

6 – Six Tim Hortons restaurants in Regina are fully decked out in NHL Heritage Classic branding.

7 – The 2019 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic™ will be the seventh NHL regular-season outdoor game played in Canada (2003 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic™ at Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton, 2011 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic™ at McMahon Stadium in Calgary, 2014 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic™ at B.C. Place Stadium in Vancouver, 2016 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic™ at Investors Group Field in Winnipeg, 2017 Scotiabank NHL Centennial Classic™ at Exhibition Stadium in Toronto and 2017 Scotiabank NHL100 Classic™ at Lansdowne Park in Ottawa).

12 – 12 million Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic™ branded hot beverage cups produced for 475 restaurants in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

19 – Number worn by Calgary Flames forward, Matthew Tkachuk, who leads the club in scoring with 10 points (4-6-10 in 12 GP) through games played on Oct. 24.

23 – For a limited time only, guests can find NHL Heritage Classic donuts, TimCards, staff apparel and window clings at 23 restaurants in Saskatchewan.

28 The 2019 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic™ will mark the 28th NHL® regular-season outdoor game contested. Of the previous 27 games that have been played, 16 of those have been hosted within football stadiums, 10 have been inside baseball stadiums and one inside a soccer stadium.

29 – Number worn by Winnipeg Jets forward, Patrik Laine, who is tied alongside Mark Scheifele for the club lead in both assists (9) and club scoring with 12 points (3-9-12 in 10 GP) through games played on Oct. 22.

31 – The current Western-Canadian rivals have faced off in 31 regular-season games since the 1999-00 season, with the Flames holding a 36-28 edge in points over the current Jets (CGY 17-12-1-1—36; ATL/WPG 13-16-1-1—28). The clubs have yet to meet in the Stanley Cup® Playoffs and the 2019 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic™ will mark their first meeting of the 2019-20 NHL regular-season.
