Kukla's Korner Hockey

Notes On Hockey

from Steve Simmons of the Toronto Sun,

- Kyle Dubas would like Mike Babcock to change and be more open-minded. And then training camp opens. And same old Babcock. Clearly, Babcock wasn’t thrilled with Dubas’ signing of Jason Spezza and he couldn’t hide it or help himself and took a couple of unnecessary shots at the veteran forward.

- The Boston Bruins should teach an NHL course: How to work the salary cap? They got Charlie McAvoy for $3 million a year less than Ottawa paid Thomas Chabot. Brandon Carlo at less than $3 million a year is rather magical signing as well.

- My advice to Patrick Laine: Watch game films of last season. Try and find yourself on some of them.
