Not A Good Feeling In Phoenix

from Matthew Sekeres of the Globe and Mail,

As someone who once cheered for the Montreal Expos, covered the rise and quick demise of the CFL’s Ottawa Renegades, and lives in a city that was robbed of the NBA Grizzlies, there is plenty of sympathy here for Phoenix Coyotes fans.

These can’t be easy times. The doomsday clock is ticking, and it’s becoming clear where this is headed. It’s a powerless feeling, and the rage builds from within.

Been there, done that, hope to never experience it again. And wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

The loss of a professional sports franchise is traumatic for a community, even if the trauma resides only in the diehards’ corner.

This reporter is a bit of an idiot.  The fact that he needs to bring in race and then lies about the immigration laws tells me that Canada has the same problem with uninformed journalists that we have in the US.

His reference to the picture of the Goldwater groups lack of color says nothing.  I live in LA and if anybody bothered to watch the Oscars you’d notice a lack of color there.  So one must assume that Hollywood is a racist community by Mathew’s standards.

As far as the immigration law, it’s about 11 pages long, so it’s not to difficult to follow.
I would like Mathew to actually read the law and show me where it says you can pull anyone over for looking hispanic.  That’s a complete lie and Mathew should hand in his credentials as a “reporter”.

This Mathew guy scares me.  This is why we can no longer trust newpapers or the so called reporters that are supposed to be honest and objective!!!

Well, um, let’s see. Halle Berry remains the only African-American woman to win best actress, just four have won for best actor and none has ever won for best director. So we can conclude that either the Academy Awards are reluctant to award these to African-Americans or that Hollywood doesn’t often put African-Americans in positions to win them.

I think if you did a little research, my man, you’d discover that yeah, a lot of people do think that Hollywood has some issues with race.
