The first day of practice was devoted to skating and conditioning with virtually no contact, but that's going to change when Nolan installs his aggressive forechecking style. "I like to see a lot of shots blocked, and I like to see a lot of body contact," he said. "I mean, ballroom dancing is body contact. I want to see some collisions. We don't want one or two guys on the puck. We want three, four, five guys on it [like] a pack of wolves." It takes energy and commitment to play that way, but Simon described Nolan as a "people person" who understands how to get the best from each individual.
