Nolan Did Not Apply for New Jersey Job

from the Times & Trqanscript,
"Some guy from Los Angeles called me," he said. "He's an agent and he worked in the NHL for a long time. I can't even tell you his name because I don't want to get him in trouble. He said 'Hey, Ted, I know Lou Lamoriello well. I'm going to call him (on your behalf).' "I said 'Oh, I don't know.' He said 'Even if nothing comes out of it Ted, you've got to get your name back out there.' He just basically said 'Hey, I'll throw your name out there.' A writer from the Buffalo News called me and I said 'Yeah, some guy from Los Angeles called and he wants to put my name in for the New Jersey job.' "It was just one of those harmless things you talk about. It was a story that just kind of took on a life of its own. I haven't applied for the job in New Jersey. I'm not waiting for them to get back to me."
