If the Islanders are looking for defensive help, they can pretty much give up on the hope that old reliable Kenny Jonsson might consider making a return. Jonsson, a former all-star defenseman and captain who anchored the Islanders defense from 1995-96 until 2003-04, said yesterday he had no plans to reconsider his decision to finish his professional career in his native Sweden instead of coming back to the NHL. "My family is doing good and happy to be back in Sweden," Jonsson said in an e-mail exchange. "I will not come back to New York or North America for next season. Send my best wishes to everybody over there."
