No Return On Investment

from Adrian Dater of All Things Avs,

Paul Stastny accumulated another $45,000 or so of wealth for his approximately two and a half hours on the job at the Pepsi Center tonight. David Jones grossed about $25,000.

A year’s worth of salary to many people reading this. In many cases, much more than that. All that money was paid by Stan Kroenke for the following results

Paul Stastny – 18 minutes, 25 seconds. Zero goals, zero assists, zero shots on goal. Even plus-minus, 73% on faceoffs.
David Jones – 15 minutes, 12 seconds. Zero goals, zero assists, one shot on goal. Minus-1. Zero % on faceoffs.

$70,000 paid out tonight by Stan Kroenke to those two guys. For one game. For that performance.

If only they would hire Roy as their coach.  That would solve all their problems.

Don’t know what Dater makes, but if he applied the same metrics to the quality of his writing, as he does to the hockey players he mentioned, his employer would be getting the same piss poor return on investment.

I’ll go out on a limb and speculate that Stastny sold more memorabilia than Dater did, as well.

In that same 15 minutes, a hedge fund manager was paid $240,000. A high school teacher made $7.81 and a waiter made 81 cents before tips.
