No Need To Panic In Anaheim

Put out the torches and put away the pitchforks. Save them for another occasion.

Five games for the Ducks to get their first win of the season were four too many in a lot of eyes that were watching their early descent toward the bottom of the Pacific Division standings and the entire NHL.

The resident fans of Duckland were ruffled by an 0-3-1 start and, most alarming, a team that might have had an easier time finding its way out of an Amazon jungle than finding the net on the ice. A Stanley Cup run over before it ever began, at least in the view of the alarmists.

Someone has to pay for this. Nine times out of 10, that is the coach and this would, of course, be Bruce Boudreau. After all, weren’t the moves already made to bring in the players who, theoretically, will finally push this current core of Ducks to the mountaintop?

Here is one thing to look at when reaching for the panic button: Only five games have been played.
