Flyers Pin Hopes On Niitty’s Hip

from the Hockey News:
Philadelphia Flyers general manager Bob Clarke announced on Friday that goaltender Antero Niittymaki received a cortisone shot for a torn labrum in his left hip and will attempt to play this season with the injury. Niittymaki, who suffered the tear during the team's morning practice on Monday, will receive a series of cortisone injections throughout the season. "Obviously, he'll have to have others through the course of the winter," said Clarke. "But through rehab he should be fine and in no danger of hurting himself any more by playing."
