NHL Fines Tom Renney

NEW YORK (April 3, 2012)—Edmonton Oilers head coach Tom Renney has been fined $10,000 for comments made following NHL Game #1188 at Los Angeles on Monday, April 2, the National Hockey League announced today.

This may be the quote that forced the fine..

“Maybe they need Hollywood (Kings) in the playoffs, I’m not sure”

i love how these league fines only add validity to the original comments. Otherwise, hardly anyone outside of Edmonton even sees these comments. But because of the fine, not only does everyone who reads hockey news see the comments, but the league appears pretty defensive.

Why are you so defensive NHL? Maybe you DO need hollywood in the playoffs!

$10,000 for saying whats on your mind? What a bunch of crap. I hope these stuffy bastards enjoy themselves during the lockout this fall.
